Description
These pieces were made for the leverage and the librarians TV shows. I purchase them at the prop and set warehouse sale in Clackamas Oregon. When I was there one of the guys who worked on the show told my little brother, who was lending me a hand at the time, that these were copies of actual ancient art. After doing some research and contacting several experts in ancient Greek and Roman art, I found out that they are copies of pieces of the Parthenon frieze (defined below). In the pictures you can see screenshots that I found by doing a simple Google image search. One of the experts that I spoke to told me that the larger piece is of a commanding soldier and his men. The smaller piece with a couple on the bench is Zeus and Athena. Do you want to own not only a piece of television history but your own little touch of world history? Now you can have both in one!!Each piece is a lightweight metal overlay of a clay mold of the Frieze. Basically a very high quality copy of a copy. One of the pieces has slight damage to the top middle edge of the back but that should not affect your ability to hang the piece. As you can see in the pictures, each piece is currently in its own metal frame. If you are local and would like to pick it up frame and all, you are more than welcome to do that. The pieces are located in Los Angeles. If you have your own shipping method/company, I am happy to work with you. Also, if you have a charitable organization that you think may benefit from this little piece of history, I am happy to work with you on that as well. This auction is for one art piece. I have two large and one small available. They are both 40 inches tall. The larger piece is 59 inches wide and the smaller piece of Zeus and Athena is 47 inches wide. Those measurements don’t include the rolling frame. If you want to do local pickup or take care of your own shipping, the sales price will be 9.
The Parthenon Frieze was a 524 foot long deep marble sculpture that was created to decorate the Parthenon. It was created between 443 and 437 BC. 420 feet of the original 524 ft still exist. Obviously it’s been cut up into pieces. The majority of the pieces are still in Athens with a few others scattered around the world at major museums.

I will ship your item through uship if shipping is necessary. It is a bit of a process so I’m not sure on a timeframe but I’d guess less than a week, depending on where you are in relationship to the piece. That guess is based on previous experience with this service.

I am working on placing these pieces in galleries. I’m not sure how much longer they’ll be here on eBay. If you’re seriously interested in one of these pieces, please contact me soon to see if we can work out a deal.
I have one of the horse one left. It has some minor damage to the bottom of the right bottom corner. Everything else has sold. Sale is as is.
